• Start — Exodus 6:18. The year of Amram (son of Kohath)'s birth is the year his father, Kohath was born (2300) + the age of his father at Amram (son of Kohath)'s birth (17) = 2317
• End — Exodus 6:20. The year of Amram (son of Kohath)'s death is the year he was born (2317) + his age at death (137) = 2454

Amram is not counted among the Israelites who travel down to Egypt with the 70 so he was born AFTER that event. Eliezer Shulman's "The Sequence of Events in the Old Testament" (page 44) places Kohath's birth in the year 2255AM (his date for Jacob's death) and Kohath was 17 years(???) old.
